WrestleMania may be positioned by WWE as the company's biggest show of the year, and that is largely the case, yet the majority of fans often view WWE's Royal Rumble PPV as the most enjoyable event on the WWE calendar.

The Rumble match itself is clearly a huge selling point of the Royal Rumble PPV, but the event also has a reputation for delivering some fantastic matches in addition to its titular over-the-top contest.

From Shawn Michaels vs. Marty Jannetty in 1993, Bret Hart vs. Diesel in 1995, and Triple H vs. Cactus Jack in 2000, to Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit in 2003, Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt in 2014, and so many more, the Royal Rumble PPV has a habit of producing some legendary matches.

Then, of course, there's the main course of the Royal Rumble match. As fans eagerly await each superstar's entrance or to see what surprises lurk around the corner, it's hard to top the excitement and anticipation that the Rumble drums up.
