Fleeting would be the word I'd use to describe AJ Styles' WWE debut as part of the Royal Rumble match. Even though he competed for almost 28 minutes, he only got two eliminations to his name - Tyler Breeze and Curtis Axel aren't names to write home about, either - while he didn't exactly set the world alight with his all round performance. Styles was subdued compared to his normal standards. Now maybe WWE are booking the proverbial slow burner here, but all the hype Styles' debut garnered needed a more impactful performance once he arrived inside the ring. He is introducing himself to a couple of new demographics who will need winning over. It was almost as if the powers that be at WWE told him to just chug along and throw a couple of pulse raising moments in there for good measure. We'll see how this pans out in the coming weeks, but as awesome as it was to see AJ in a WWE ring finally, was I the only one to feel a little short changed? The hope of a feud with Kevin Owens - who eliminated the Phenomenal One from the match - kept my chin up...
