10 Things That Would Be Happening In WWE If Fans Could Vote
5. Massive Roster Cuts
Wrestling fans can be a ruthless bunch. They’re never shy in sharing their opinion, particularly when it’s negative, and WWE’s main roster is packed with wrestlers who fans would prefer not to watch every week, whether justified or not.
There are a number of current main roster wrestlers whose performances don’t merit their card position, but we fans have a tendency to go overboard with the criticism. Does Baron Corbin deserve to lose his job because he’s not as good a wrestler as AJ Styles? Absolutely not, but some would have you believe that purging him from existence is the only option.
Thus, increasing fan power would bring a glut of main roster cuts. The likes of Jack Swagger, Dana Brooke, and Mojo Rawley would be cast into the abyss, never to be heard from again, regardless of whether they deserve it or not. They’d be replaced by exciting, up-and-comers from NXT, the indies, and beyond, but things wouldn’t stop there.
Fans will always find ways to turn on workers, however, and as soon as the Swaggers of the world are thrown out, they’d be replaced by someone else. That’s just the nature of the business, and if fan votes played a role in hirings and firings, WWE’s already high roster turnover would soar.
