Some key words there: "new generation".

The wrestling audience is smarter than ever before, and they yearn to see the best in-ring workers succeed in WWE. In some respects, things are similar to the post-Hulkamania days of the early-'90s. Back then, dynamos like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels became popular due to their in-ring acumen, and things could be the same again.

Finn Bálor, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, the aforementioned Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Samoa Joe, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and more are all excellent pieces of talent. In fact, they help make this WWE roster one of the richest in history in terms of pure skill. That's something the company need to build on.

Mix those names with other hard-workers like Drew McIntyre, The Miz and so on and it becomes clear how much quality WWE has on its books. If their in-ring skills are pushed ahead of silly backstage 'character development' (Bálor smiling, for example), then things will improve.
