10 Things WWE Must Do In The Post-WrestleMania Season

6. Increase Network Subscribers

Vince McMahon announced during a conference call on March 30th that the WWE Network was currently at 1.3 million subscribers, worldwide. Whilst WWE may have tried to spin this as a positive, Wall Street didn't buy it. In fact, they reacted very negatively and WWE stock took a huge hit as a result. So what can WWE do to remedy this? Well, they need to increase subscriber numbers, obviously. How can WWE go about that? They're already giving subscribers another free month through April. The question is, how many of those who are signing up for April will continue to subscribe once they're required to pay 9.99 a month? The company desperately needs to attract more potential subscribers in the run-up to SummerSlam. They have already announced a new spate of forthcoming content. The proposed shows are, to say the least, a mixed bag. Chris Jericho's podcast, while it should be at least decent, sounds like a step down from Steve Austin's version. John Cena as first guest? Sure to be controversial. Or not. Does the world really need another Diva Search? That WWE are teaming up with Jerry Springer and Seth Green says a lot about how much WWE keeps up with contemporary pop culture. WWE needs to give the fans more of a reason to subscribe, since people clearly aren't as interested as WWE had hoped they would be. They have not only fans, but also shareholders to answer to.
