10 Things TNA Wants You To Forget About Kurt Angle

6. He Wanted Sting In WWE

Moving from one of the biggest surprises of the last decade in wrestling to the front runner for the biggest surprise in this one, the debut of Sting in the WWE. Now by the time the show had actually aired, word had leaked that The Icon would be making his first appearance with the one company no one ever thought he would step foot in. Just days before the event, the idea of Sting making his debut at Survivor Series would have been a shock to even the most insider of insiders. Once Sting actually signed with WWE, the general feeling was that he would wrestle at least one match for them, but the possibility remained this was just a merchandising deal or simply a Hall Of Fame induction. So when Jim Ross posed the question on his podcast this summer on whether or not he thought Sting would ever wind up in the WWE, the answer Angle gave was very telling."I sure hope so", Kurt replied quickly and seemingly very honestly. You could sense the eagerness in his voice, whether it was from the perspective of a fan or he had hopes of collaborating with him once again. Either way, the fact that TNA's biggest name was anxious to see their competition land the one major name that always eluded them, who might draw real interest, was very revealing.
