6. What John Cena Told Her In 2016

“I don’t know who you are. Who are you?”.

That, incredibly, was what John Cena said to Becky backstage in 2016. It might sound cold to some, but JC was only trying to jolt Lynch into action and make her realise that the whole 'Lass Kicker' thing she had going on back then wasn't clicking with the audience one bit.

Becky told Austin that Cena pointed to the lack of a connection between her nickname and scrappy underdog presentation during matches/promos too. She wasn't kicking any ass, and the steampunk look she had was another confusing 'Create-A-Wrestler' decision that didn't fit.

Later, when Becks was 'The Man', Cena approached her backstage and said she'd figured things out. He was happy for her, and she admits it felt good to hear his praise. John had been looking out for Lynch in his own way, but refused to sugarcoat things just so she'd feel better about her lack of direction.
