Lee, much like Matt Hardy, found his AEW debut strange.

When he was actually in the ring doing it, Brodie thought that things "didn't feel right", and it wasn't until afterwards (when he watched the footage back) that he was content. The ongoing health concerns currently gripping the world certainly didn't help; in a cool moment, Lee told Jericho that Tony Khan offered to postpone his debut if he didn't feel comfortable.

To quote his old employer's entrance theme, there was 'No Chance In Hell' of that happening. Brodie had waited too look to make an impact, and he desperately wanted to get right back into the thick of performing again. That's why he replied to Khan's kind, understanding text with one of his own that said he was all in.

Come debut time, Lee was nervous. He remembers awkwardly stumbling over his promo in the locker room with Cody Rhodes, but was put at ease when Cody said he had the freedom to do and say pretty much anything he believed in.
