As Luke Harper, Brodie held WWE's Intercontinental Title for 27 days in late-2014. That, he told Jericho, was one of the best months of his career, although things might've been better had the company been more open to change. Harper was sick of playing the Wyatt Family sidekick and pitched some other ideas.

Both of his main ones were shot down.

As IC Champ, Lee fancied becoming "a collector" who'd steal a trophy from all of his victims. The gimmick would reflect his real-life fascinating with serial killers, and it'd feed nicely into the second part of his plan. When WWE knocked back the first, that second part was all he had left. They didn't fancy that either.

Brodie loved the thought of becoming a super-smart monster who intelligently (and calmly) told opponents how he'd dissect them in-ring. Vince McMahon couldn't wrap his head around some 'hillbilly with a southern drawl' speaking eloquently, and so he scrapped the whole thing.
