10 Things We Learned From Dark Side Of The Ring: Billy Jack Haynes

2. He Says Vince McMahon Sr “Could He His Father”

Then, there's this wild claim.

Talking heads like Jim Cornette, Bill Alfonso and various other old pros poured cold water all over some of Billy Jack’s increasingly-out there claims on the shoot interview circuit between 2006-2023. One of the wildest? Haynes alleged that he could actually be the son of Vince McMahon Sr, and thus Vince McMahon Jr's brother.

Dark Side’s producers asked Haynes about the Vince Sr stuff during their interview with him, and he still maintains that McMahon Sr could’ve “had sex with [his] mother”. Meltzer called it “ridiculous that somebody could even try to pass that off”, and most seem to believe this was a publicity stunt ploy from Haynes to stir up some attention for himself, remain relevant and squeeze more money out of shoot interviewers seeking dirt.

That's entirely possible, but there's a sad slant on everything too. Maybe Billy Jack is suffering from mental illness and delusions. A vague, palmed-off statement like, 'Vince Sr could've had sex with my mother' is hard to get a good grasp on. Something like that would be possible, but it just doesn't sound plausible whatsoever. It's so easy to fling comments like that out into the ether without logic or a care for consequences.

Neither Meltzer nor Cornette could quite believe what they were hearing. When pressed in jail today, Haynes still maintains that there's a slight chance he's a McMahon. This reads like a broken down old wrestler telling himself a story so many times that he starts to believe it could be fact.

Quite sad, really.
