10 Things We Learned From Goldberg On Edge & Christian's Podcast

1. There Will Be Blood

Edge Christian Goldberg
WWE

From an in-ring standpoint, Goldberg has only been on the defensive thrice since returning:-

1. His Royal Rumble elimination.
2. The F5 Brock Lesnar gave him a few weeks ago.
3. The time he headbutted a door on the way to the ring.

The infamous door headbutt busted Goldberg open, and knocked him loopy during the ensuing promo. If the former WCW Champion is to be believed, however, it won’t be the last time we see him spill blood before riding into the sunset:-

“This ain't gonna be no... hey, he knows what's coming, I know what's coming. I don't think we're gonna catch each other by surprise. So I think this is gonna be a bloodfest. It's gonna be a knock down, drag out war and if I get him in the Thai Plum, don't think I'm not going to drive one of my knees straight through his solar plexus.”

Goldberg promised gore, but is this something WWE can really deliver under their PG restrictions? Anything is possible with two men of this size, of course, but the only real bloodbath we’ve seen recently was when Lesnar sliced Randy Orton open with an elbow at SummerSlam ‘16. Unless WWE go down that route again, a bloody WrestleMania seems unlikely.

Goldberg was probably just trying to hype the match, and who can blame him? With just five days to go and a huge level of cynicism still surrounding the bout, Goldberg vs. Lesnar needs all the positive PR it can get.
