10 Things We Learned From John Cena On Stephanie McMahon's WWE Show

9. One Picture Is Absolutely Tremendous

There's nothing especially poignant about this entry, but it's a fun one anyway.

Stephanie McMahon called John Cena’s early years “humble beginnings as an outcast in West Newbury, Massachusetts”. That was undoubtedly true, but that’s when a pic of Cena rocking the most spectacular mohawk hairdo you’ll ever see popped up on-screen. He was owning that hightop fade, and he knew it. Lil' dude looked like a character from Double Dragon, Final Fight, Streets Of Rage or any number of retro beat 'em ups.

Honestly? There's nothing particularly important to say about the haircut, but how could we let Stephanie’s Places vanish without sharing this gem?! ESPN's producers must've been over the moon when Cena served up this beauty from yesteryear. It was shown on-screen whilst he and McMahon spoke about how tough a time John had fitting in with other kids when growing up.

Nobody could've looked at this photo and thought: 'Yeah, that child will grow up to become a mountain of muscle and one of WWE's biggest stars ever'. Cena himself freely admits that he didn't really have a clue what was going on in his life at the time. He just wanted to rebel against everything and have a good time doing it.

Again, this is a 'comedy relief' entry. The pic was only shown for a few seconds before Stephanie and John moved on to other things and changed the subject, but it caught the eye. Maybe this was Cena's very own prototype for what great hair should look like. Ahem.
