8. 'Fake' Diesel Gave Kane His Confidence Back

Apparently, he didn't have too much potential to dress up as Kevin Nash and act like a bargain bin Halloween act.

The 'Fake' Diesel and 'Fake' Razor Ramon characters introduced in 1996 have been the subject of ridicule ever since. It may surprise some to know that Kane relished the role, viewed it as a way to show Vince McMahon how committed he was to the cause and that playing Nash rip off gave him some confidence back.

Before assuming the role of Diesel, Kane was mired in a period of crushed self-confidence after the Isaac Yankem experiment. Becoming Diesel and studying Nash's mannerisms enabled him to work like the big man he was rather than as a bump machine for Bret Hart, and it was one he was determined to make work.

Obviously, it didn't, but the 'Fake' debacle did raise Kane's confidence levels; if he could keep a straight face whilst pretending to be someone else, he'd surely relish his next, more original role. McMahon was impressed by how dogged "Diesel" was.
