10 Things We Learned From Kenny Omega On Wrestling Observer Radio

6. Omega Is Not The Focus Of TV... Yet

Kenny Omega
AEW

There's no question Kenny Omega has been a key component of AEW to date, but he definitely hasn't been Dynamite's focal point, with that position shared between Chris Jericho and Elite pal Cody, amongst others. Quite a few fans have been a little disappointed with the Cleaner's relative anonymity and are wondering: when will we have the New Japan Kenny back?

Omega confirmed that we'll see a little more of him week by week, but that for now, the focus is on polishing the sacks of potential gems at the promotion's disposal. He says he's a very patient guy, and that he knows his time will come.

After all, AEW have made "all the right decisions" so far. Besides which, Kenny doesn't think the time is right to be a "New Japan copy & paste", and instead wants to prove those who say he's the best right, by becoming a master at every aspect of the industry. This means tag wrestling, six-mans, selling matches with promos, comedy contests, and - most recently - hardcore bloodbaths. So there's a lot more to come from Omega yet - it just might not be very familiar.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
