2. Why She Didn’t Enjoy The First Rumble

“I was the wrong kind of nervous”.

That's what Lita said when Steve asked her about her cameo in the 2018 Royal Rumble. She hadn't been training for that moment at all. No, WWE asked her if she'd like to be in the 30-woman match 24 hours before the pay-per-view, and she just sort of agreed without thinking it through.

By the time she had doubts, it was far too late. Lita recalled feeling so alien and like she didn't belong out there with a new breed of WWE women. The likes of Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair had taken things to a whole new level ("they'd raised the bar so high), and the legend didn't know if she could hang.

Those nerves, the lack of preparation and everything else just combined to make the first women's Rumble a fairly crap experience for Lita. She didn't have a good time at all, and that's why she was determined to make up for that six-minute stinker in 2022.
