3. He Didnt Want To Bring Jeffs House Fire Into Storyline
The history of WWEs use of real life situations to shape storylines isnt exactly a new thing, but it seems that it isnt always to the satisfaction of the talent. When asked about the run-up to WrestleMania 25, when the Hardy V Hardy match was spun off the back of Matt causing a series of accidents in Jeffs life, Matt suggested he hadnt agreed with the direction. The decision to include reference to the real-life house fire that killed Jeffs dog Jack was apparently a stretch too far, but not one he thought he could argue with at the time:
That was totally a WWE call. I wasn't of fan of integrating Jeff's house fire into out story. We did what our boss said and made the most of it. That's what ALL employees have to do at some point.
