10 Things We Learned From NJPW At Korakuen Hall

8. Buying Tickets

Buying tickets for the show was a pain in the arse. I tried to do it online a few times and couldn’t figure it out (something about posting them to somewhere in Japan and having them forwarded on to you) and then there was a whole thing about buying it from the Lawson convenience stores through some loppi machine. In the end I just went to the box office on the day.

Now again, this was just a World Tag League show, but all of the seating tickets were sold. However, standing tickets always go on sale at 4pm on the day of the event and they just so happened to be the cheapest tickets available. Luckily, it turns out that standing tickets are brilliant!

Once in the arena, you head upstairs and get to a balcony area, right by the sound desk with a perfect view looking down on the ring. In terms of seeing the action, you really couldn’t ask for a better spot. Plus, Takashi Iizuka grunted and growled his way directly passed me which was an added bonus (terrible photo to follow).

Also, I arrived too late to get a place directly on the railing but the crowd are so nice and polite that they saw that I was foreign, shuffled all their stuff to the side and let me squeeze in to get a better view. And then during the show they made sure that I could see everything, looked after my bag while I went to the loo and we shared drinks and chants for Zack Sabre Jr.

For bigger shows I would suggest going early to make sure you get a ticket but for this show I just rocked up at about 4:30pm and got a ticket straight away.
