10 Things We Learned From NJPW G1 Special 2018

Cody Kenny Omega

...because Bullet Club is again not fine, even if the warring sides of the group came together following Kenny and Cody's post-match hug. Shockingly assaulted by the infuriated Guerrillas of Destiny as the crew collectively celebrated on the ramp, Omega and The Young Bucks were soon joined on the deck by shellshocked BC'ers Marty Scurll, Hangman Page, Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi.

The assault upon the latter two signposted the severity of this particular internal split. Bullet Club's banter brigade lying prone shouldn't have been a surprise - Tama Tonga has openly questioned the validity of 'The Elite' for the better part of a year - but Owens and Takahashi were "OGs", literally so in various splinter matches alongside the Guerrillas in 2017.

Cody's swerve turn completing his babyface switch was a deft touch, teased simplistically enough by the newly-named Firing Squad assuming he'd want in on the mauling. The inclusion of King Haku in the opener had proven to be a foreshadow all along - his piledriver on IRL Elite buddy Rocky Romero proved to be the first part of a two-pronged attack which concluded with Kenny Omega having his head driven into a steel chair.
