WCW made history on 2 August '92 in Baltimore, and everyone knew it. Ron's World Title win was a groundbreaking moment for black people in pro wrestling, but he was keen to stress that his victory was for everyone of all colours. That's just the kind of man Ron Simmons is.

When he and Austin relived the pin on Vader, Simmons said two words: "Watch everybody". People both black and white leapt out of their seats around ringside when he won the belt. He's super-proud of how he broke down racial doors, but Ron is also happy that folks from all backgrounds shared his moment.

There's something so lovely about that.

Simmons wanted to represent everybody, not just those who had the same skin colour as him. He's had countless letters from fans over the years about that night, and they're not all black. That's something he holds dear, because it proves that good times bring people together.
