Eventually departing TNA in February, 2015 following a decade-long run, Samoa Joe knew that the next step in his pro wrestling career was an important one. Although returning to companies like Ring Of Honor and working extensively in Japan were both options open to the man, the idea of finally reaching WWE was more appealing.

There was just one problem: Joe didn't have any earthly clue how to go about getting his foot in the door.

Reaching out to Paul Heyman (someone Joe had known for years) on Twitter, the Samoan star asked for advice. A fan of Joe's, the former ECW mastermind started recommending WWE take a look at the ex-TNA man, and this was furthered by other glowing appraisals from the likes of Joey Mercury and Road Dogg.

Both of those men managed to get in Triple H's ear regarding Joe, and that set the wheels in motion for his arrival in WWE. Joe still believes asking for Heyman's help piqued interest from the company and showed initiative from his side.
