10 Things We Learned From Seth Rollins On Edge & Christian’s Podcast

3. WWE Almost Split The Shield In 2013

Maybe Rollins would've been babyface had WWE stuck to their original plans.

At TLC 2013, CM Punk beat The Shield in a three-on-one handicap match. That, Seth told Edge and Christian, was supposed to be the catalyst for an early split. Dean Ambrose was tentatively pencilled in to strike first, turn on Rollins and Reigns, then become a 'Lunatic' outlaw who would only look out for himself.

The Shield went into that TLC pay-per-view thinking it'd be their last as a unit. By the time January's Royal Rumble rolled around, they were going to be solo stars, not a hungry pack of like-minded wolves with a common goal. Rollins is still glad WWE changed their minds and decided to wait a while.

Think how different things might've been had Ambrose become the heel agitator and Seth a wronged babyface.
