10 Things We Learned From Shane McMahon On WWE’s After The Bell

7. He Loves The Shorter Run Times

Here's something else he's passionate about.

Shane told Graves that Underground gives talent the chance to "think outside the box" and react naturally to strikes rather than thinking about multi-camera setups or live crowds. He's challenging workers to avoid planning things out too much and wants them to keep things succinct.

Corey revealed that he hadn't looked at Underground that way. To him, it was just another USP for Monday Night Raw, but McMahon thinks differently. Shane believes avoiding familiar schemes like rest holds or working around ad breaks have no place on something as "explosive" as Underground.

He is onto something here. WWE's in-ring style (certainly on TV more than pay-per-view) has become so formulaic that it's borderline painful to watch for long-timers; most know what's going to happen ahead of time, which can make matches stale.
