Then, it all came crashing down.

The WWF were put under intense pressure from the PTC (Parents Television Council) to cease controversial gimmicks like The Godfather and Val Venis in mid-2000. Wright recalled being told he'd be part of a send-up faction - the Right To Censor (RTC) movement was born, and Charles hated it.

On 'Broken Skull', Wright said that RTC was the only time he didn't like what he was doing in wrestling. He loved the other members of the group, but he wasn't happy with the gig anymore. It felt like pulling teeth after a few years of fun and laughs as The Godfather, and he wanted out.

Hilariously, Vince stopped his departure by putting the Tag-Team Titles on him. That prolonged Charles' agony a little while longer. Looking back, he was totally miserable as 'The Goodfather', and he doesn't mind being open about that torment now.
