10 Things We Learned From The Undertaker On Stephanie McMahon's WWE Show

8. They Totally Gloss Over WCW

This was certainly a choice.

'Taker spent a year or so in WCW between 1989-1990 as ‘Mean’ Mark Callous. During that stint, he was even managed by Paul Heyman, but Stephanie's show weirdly ignored that. All Steph said was that Mark “paid his dues, spending time in multiple wrestling promotions” before the WWF came calling. Technically true, but WCW wasn't just another company.

It was her father's chief competitor from the late-1980s until 2001, and eventually threatened to topple the McMahon family empire for good once Eric Bischoff's ingenuity turned WCW's fortunes around in the mid-90s. nWo 4 life, and all that. Stephanie's Places barely even touched on that at all. Fair enough, they didn't have to deep dive on the 'Monday Night Wars', but something more about 'Taker's time in Atlanta would've been fun.

He didn't even get to tell that story about Ole Anderson insulting him by saying he'd never pay to watch 'Mean' Mark wrestle. That's what prompted Calaway to leave and end up in the federation as The Undertaker, and it's a bit off that ESPN's show neglected such a key piece in 'Taker's history.

Something else that made this a strange choice? Earlier episodes with Stephanie showed Cody Rhodes giving WCW a lot of love. They were in the old Center Stage studios to talk about Cody watching his dad Dusty's work on Saturday Night tapings in the 90s. Quite why ESPN chose to ignore or edit out any WCW chat here is puzzling. The Ole incident is something 'Taker must've mentioned - he always does.
