6. How Starrcade 1994 Changed Vince McMahon's Mind

When Triple H first met with Vince McMahon in late-1994, he made sure to say he wanted to join the WWF and make a name for himself. By the time he'd left that meeting, he realised that McMahon didn't know who he was beforehand and wasn't that keen.

That didn't change until the then-Jean-Paul Levesque wrestled Alex Wright at WCW's Starrcade 1994 pay-per-view. Shortly after that, Vince called him and told his future son-in-law he was impressed and wanted to sign him to a deal. That was all Triple H needed to hear.

He was federation bound.

Who knows how different things might've been had McMahon not heard about Levesque's match at Starrcade. To this day, Trips can't be sure whether Vince watched the match himself or heard about it from one of his subordinates.
