5. WCW Fans Were Still Extremely Positive
Reading the various letters and emails sent in by WCW fans to the magazine, it becomes painstakingly clear that these people still believed in the company. No, times weren't quite as fruitful as they had been from 1997-1999, but the general consensus seems to be that one big idea could turn the ship around, taking WCW in the right direction and back to the top of the pro wrestling landscape. Reading over the letter page, every fan is full of gushing comments for everyone from Tony Schiavone to Jeff Jarrett. Even Sean O'Haire gets a stunning appraisal, from one fan feeling he is definitely the next breakout WCW star. In a way, this isn't a full representation of how wrestling enthusiasts felt about WCW at the time, there was a lot of negativity, but it's startling to see so many people putting their full support behind the promotion. Former WWE ring announcer, Justin Roberts, seen here enjoying a WCW live event in 1995, isn't one of the readers electing to write in, but his overwhelming joy at being part of World Championship Wrestling does really sum up the overall feeling across the board with these letters.
