10 Things We Learned From WWE 24: Finn Bálor
3. WrestleMania Misery
24’s final act focuses primarily on the closing stages of Finn’s recuperation. He heads to Orlando and starts back at the Performance Center on January 3rd, first partaking in some light in-ring cardio, before moving on to gentle "shadow" matches. "The next six weeks are going to feel longer than the past six months," he says, and a lengthy training montage rolls.
Bálor is shown joking with Karl Anderson about "entering the Royal Rumble at number 31," but the event comes too soon for him. Instead, Finn meets with his doctor in February, and after stating that he feels "as good as I possibly can without being in front of a crowd," he’s given the all-clear to return two weeks later.
Initially returning on the house show circuit, Bálor expresses his immense disappointment at not appearing at WrestleMania. Though cleared to compete, he didn’t return to television until the following night, and the aftermath focuses on Finn at his most despondent.
He sounds absolutely gutted to have missed out on a ‘Mania moment, but reluctantly admits that not rushing back should allow him to prolong his career, and give him plenty of other opportunities to shine on WWE’s biggest stage.
