10 Things We Learned From You Cannot Kill David Arquette
1. Randy & Elizabeth
You Cannot Kill David Arquette constantly circles back to Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth. These are its subject's most cited wrestlers, with shots of Arquette watching clips of them peppered throughout. He says he was in love with Elizabeth growing up, and Randy was his biggest inspiration, foreshadowing a cathartic climax in which his wrestling life finally comes full circle.
Arquette's efforts come good. He is invited to compete for the same Legends of Wrestling imprint that denied him the previous year, booked in an apparent grudge match with Ken Anderson. Christina surprises him prior to the match. Decked out like Elizabeth herself, she catches David backstage, visibly indulging herself in his hustle for the first time, allowing them their own Randy and Liz moment as Arquette wrestles Anderson, earning the thousands-strong crowd's respect in the process.
It's a lovely, heartwarming ending, as Arquette makes good with Knobbs, is put over by fellow former WCW Champion Booker T, and gets to work his best friend's son, Jungle Boy. Later, he is named in the 2019 PWI 500.
David Arquette got exactly what he wanted. You couldn't come up with a more poetic ending.
