10 Things We Need To See Post-WWE Summerslam 2022

7. Utilise The Midcard Belts

The Intercontinental Championship wasn’t defended at SummerSlam; nor was it defended at WrestleMania, and while it featured on the past few ‘Manias, the total ring time given to the venerable belt was about 22 minutes in three years.

This is a drum fans have beaten for years, but the IC strap needs its shine. The US belt has been a tad more visible, but it acts mainly as something for Bobby Lashley to proudly hoist.

With WWE’s depth, there are no end of great midcard title matches we could be seeing, and this is even more apparent when there’s only one world championship to fight over. Folks who aren’t vying for the big gold - i.e anyone who isn’t Roman, Seth, Cody, or Brock - could and should be warring over these two straps, to make it clear they’re prizes worth winning.

The likes of Sheamus, Riddle, and Zayn have put on scorchers for the US and IC Titles, and it’s not unreasonable to expect these legendary belts to get some prominence on WWE cards. But keep them on Lashley and Gunther respectively until we get to Survivor Series, please and thank you.
