10 Things We Never Thought We Would See In WWE In The 2010s

5. TNA Stars In WWE

I think it's safe to say WWE has never perceived TNA as direct competition. Technically, all wrestling companies are competition to WWE, as well as UFC, but never at any point in its existence has TNA posed a true threat to WWE quite like WCW did in the late 1990s. But it speaks volumes that WWE is open to acknowledging independent wrestling companies, New Japan Pro Wrestling and even Ring of Honor on TV and on their website, but not TNA. It was never confirmed the company had it out for anyone who once worked for the Nashville-based organization, but for a few years, all former TNA employees who journeyed over to WWE were promptly buried. Awesome Kong (a.k.a. Kharma) doesn't count because she got pregnant, but what about Chris Harris (a.k.a. Braden Walker), who was destined for big things in TNA at one point? Or Lance Hoyt (a.k.a. Vance Archer), who was never given the opportunity to succeed? Or how about Low Ki (a.k.a. Kaval), who was fired mere months after winning the second season of NXT? After Kong, there were very few if any stars from TNA who made their way to WWE, but Samoa Joe broke that sad streak with his shocking debut at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable in May 2015. He didn't come in with a stupid gimmick or even a new name. He was simply Samoa Joe, and he has been a dominant force ever since. James Storm made a handful of appearances in NXT last year, and as of January, former TNA world champions AJ Styles and Austin Aries have officially signed with the organization. It's about time WWE realized that TNA's issues have always lied within management, not the highly talented roster.
