AEW Dynamite looked great. The stage was gorgeous and we were treated to endless panning shots of a full arena. AEW Dynamite sounded great. Excalibur is a great announcer but, even better, he was flanked by two of the most trusted and revered voices in all of wrestling. AEW got off to a great start with Cody and Sammy Guevara delivering a great opening match that was rapturously received by fans.

AEW Dynamite was blown out of the water by the uninterrupted, absolute banger of an opening match taking place on the other side. Neither Matt Riddle or Adam Cole let up in a frenetic, hard hitting showcase of their talents and their pained selling stopped things short of devolving into a spot fest.

They not have won the ratings war on Wednesday night but WWE should have no regrets about delivering a killer opening match that will have delighted and enthralled those who did tune in.
