10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Adrian Neville

6. Lack Of Confidence

Given the fact that Adrian Neville is regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers in the world today, you might presume that he would have a bit of a chip on his shoulder and be overflowing with confidence. After all, it takes a lot of guts to perform some of the moves that Neville does in the ring on a nightly basis. But, as he explained to Colt Cabana on episode 78 of the Art of Wrestling podcast, Neville has struggled with confidence issues in the past. Throughout the podcast it is clear that Neville is reluctant to brag or talk about himself too much. In fact, he often downplays his ability and accomplishments and is quite self-depreciating when it comes to his roots and career. After the podcast had 'officially' ended, Cabana resumed his conversation with Neville due to something that Neville had said to him when they weren't recording. When Cabana brought up Neville's then lack of Facebook or Twitter for people to get in contact with him and book him, Neville admitted that he didn't use it because he didn't want the hassle and actually had a 'few or failure'. The two men had a very interesting post-podcast conversation where they talked about Neville's fears and how he didn't even want to do the podcast for fear of how he would come across to the world. Neville went on to say that he hadn't pushed himself because of a fear of rejection and was just happy living the life he was living and doing what he was doing, which was Dragon Gate, at that time. Neville has since signed with WWE and become one of their most heavily-pushed acts in NXT, so it looks like those fears have subsided, but it was very refreshing to hear a performer speak so candidly about their fears and doubts like that and properly displayed Neville's humble nature.
