10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Adrian Neville
5. Respect Of His Peers
Neville may not have believed in himself at times but he certainly had (and has) the respect of his peers. After the Neville versus Bálor match at NXT Takeover: Rival, several current and former WWE superstars took to Twitter to put the match and competitors over. But Neville has always impressed ever since the early days in his career he was viewed as something special. Ultimo Dragon gave an interview with Fighting Spirit Magazine in the UK in mid-2006 where he singled Neville out as a future show. As mentioned earlier, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens were so blown away by him that they flew him out to America to wrestle for PWG. But perhaps the biggest sign of respect was the fact that retired Japanese legend Hayabusa chose Neville to play one of his past incarnations (a heel gimmick called Darkside H) for a Hayabusa tribute show. This was especially humbling to Neville as Hayabusa, who was unfortunately paralysed during an in-ring accident but was one oft he greatest flyers of the 90s, was a hero and inspiration to Neville during his earlier days. Rob Van Dam, another inspiration of Neville's, recently came out and praised Neville in interviews. NXT foreman Triple H has also put Neville over as a future star in interviews. Seems the only person left for Neville to convince is Vince McMahon himself.
