Many of the stars we have come to love today are not new to the bright lights and cameras of World Wrestling Entertainment.

AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan and more did the job for the up-and-comers of the early 2000s, tasked with getting in a couple of shots of their own but more or less just making their opponents look good.

Roode featured in more than his fair share of dark matches. In fact, many believe that only Tyson Dux featured more often than Roode (or Bobby 'Rude' as he was billed) at this time. Rude wrestled on Velocity and Heat, as well as before RAW and SmackDown tapings.

The list of men to defeat Rude reads like a who's who of professional wrestling; Sean O'Haire, Orlando Jordan, Matt Hardy, Al Snow and Billy Kidman all got the W over a man who would go on to surpass them all.

He also did tag team jobbing duties against such legendary teams as the F.B.I and Three Minute Warning.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
