10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Rob Gronkowski
10. Gronk Isn't Some NFL Scrub
WWE have hired ex-American Football players before. Baron Corbin was one, Roman Reigns is another, and there are countless other examples of those who traded gridiron for wrestling ring throughout company history. Somehow, Gronkowski feels a little different, at least to those who follow the NFL.
Unlike most who switch career paths, Rob can look back on a wealth of success in football. He's a three-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots (he spent his entire career catching passes from Tom Brady), and he's one of the best Tight Ends in league history. That's not to be sniffed at.
Gronk isn't some NFL hopeful who treaded water in the CFL, AAF or even the XLF. He's the real deal.
WWE are signing someone with serious pedigree. Rob won the Lombardi Trophy three times, was a five-time Pro Bowler, a four-time All-Pro, and he's one of the most celebrated big men in football. It's massive that he retired from the NFL and chose WWE.
