The fact Spud worked in Ohio Valley Wrestling will perhaps resonate with older WWE fans who remember the promotion as a developmental territory. Stars like John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista and Brock Lesnar all spent time in OVW. Now, Rockstar Spud can add his name to the list of current WWE stars who spent some time there.

OVW was once TNA's developmental territory too, and it was there that Spud became TV Champion in 2013 by beating Cliff Compton (formerly known as Domino in WWE) during his debut match. Spud then held the title for 59 days before dropping it to Randy Royal. After that, he'd start to make his way back onto TNA's core programming.

Other notable OVW TV Champions include Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Colt Cabana and Santino Marella. Spud can count himself amongst those names, and he actually held the belt for longer than all of them. OVW wasn't the same by 2013, but it's still history Spud can cite when looking back on his career.
