10. A Hulk Hogan Trading Card Got Him Into Wrestling

As a young lad growing up in Birmingham, England, Spud was into football (he's bizarrely an Everton fan despite not being born on Merseyside) long before he became fascinated by the colourful world of pro wrestling. He didn't see a tape at a friend's house, attend a show or anything like that. No, it was trading cards that got him.

Specifically, it was a Hulk Hogan WWF trading card that hooked the youngster. Hogan, complete with his tan, muscles, handlebar moustache and bright red and yellow gear, must have looked like He-Man come to life. He did to millions of other kids, and the future Rockstar Spud told Art Of Wrestling he was no different.

From there, Spud started paying attention to wrestling and was eager to find out everything he could about the industry. The internet helped with that, but so did magazines and trusty VHS tapes. Then, there was his email address...
