10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About War Games

9. Dusty Rhodes Never Lost A WarGames Match

The man who created WarGames would never once taste defeat inside the steel. To the creator go the spoils. Of the 10 gimmick matches Dusty Rhodes worked from 1987-1994, he scored 10 victories, the last of which came alongside his son Dustin and The Nasty Boys at Fall Brawl '94.

Seeing Dusty roar back from a vicious beatdown at the hands of The Four Horsemen would have popped live crowds big style in the 80s. Much of that magic had dissipated by the mid-90's. WarGames became more watered down, but it's still stirring to watch the 1994 effort back on the WWE Network. It's also obvious to see how much Rhodes loved his creation.

Again, most of Dusty's WarGames wins came away from the camera. On pay-per-view, he worked just once inside WarGames. That just shows how different the industry was during the gimmick's prime years; live events were the lifeblood of the NWA, not TV.
