10 Things WWE Must Add To WWE Network To Justify $14.99

6. More Classic Content

Everybody knows that WWE owns WCW and ECW’s tape libraries, and the company have done a good job of implementing those organisations’ old content into the Network. The ECW shows suffer from the altered entrance themes, but most of the classic content is there, and you can find almost every major ECW and WCW PPV somewhere on the Network.

WWE owns a lot more material than that, however. From AWA’s SuperClash series and World Class Championship Wrestling to Smokey Mountain and Deep South, WWE’s tape library is ridiculously deep. They’ve already thrown up a bunch of old NWA content, but there’s so much more to explore in these historic tape libraries, and revered promotions like SMW and WCCW are represented only by a few dozen shows.

Wrestling has come a long way since the supposed Golden Age, and it can be tough for modern day fans to go back and delve into the archives. That being said, there’s a reason Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, the Von Erichs, and countless others rose to prominence through this time period. As it stands, huge chunks of their legacies are currently missing from the WWE Network, and that’s disappointing.

Scouring and uploading these extensive archives would be incredibly time-consuming for WWE staff, but entirely worthwhile for wrestling historians.
