10 Things WWE Regrets About WrestleMania

1. Apparent Murder On Pay-Per-View

Before diving in here, it's important to note that Raw, SmackDown and anything taking place on WWE pay-per-view exists in a televised sphere. Put another way, these are not real people, they're characters, and that's true even of the ones who "play themselves". This is entertainment, after all.

It's fascinating then to see the outrage when WWE do something other television shows get away with. A prime example: killing characters off.

In other TV canons, murder is often part and parcel of the show. In wrestling, it isn't, and so the WWF caught major flak for hanging Big Boss Man from the Hell In A Cell structure at WrestleMania XV. The company were inundated with complaints, and those who weren't offended palmed their foreheads when Boss Man suddenly returned without a scratch.

Again, this isn't a storyline WWE enjoy speaking about now. They're a product aimed at children, and so the visual of a larger-than-life superstar being hanged until presumably dead doesn't fit. It's also probably something WWE regret doing.
