10 Things The WWE Did Right In 2014

7. Giving Brock Lesnar A Dominant Win At Summerslam To Follow Breaking The Streak

While it is highly debatable whether or not The Undertaker's WrestleMania undefeated streak should have been broken or not, the unthinkable happened. At WrestleMania 30, Brock Lesnar hit The Undertaker with a third F5, and as he's going for the cover, everyone was expecting Taker to kick out at the very last nanosecond like he is so good at doing. But no. The referee's hand hit the mat for a 3-count, and the entire world was shocked. You could see it on the faces in the crowd even. There was an odd silence that came over New Orleans that you have rarely seen at WrestleMania. When you have one of the most shocking moments in WWE history occur, you must follow it up with something amazing to justify ending the streak. Thankfully the WWE had a good follow-up plan to Lesnar's WrestleMania win with defeating John Cena at Summerslam to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The unique thing to this title win was that Cena was absolutely decimated, and rarely on offense for the match. Well over a dozen suplex's were delivered by Lesnar to Cena, and he was just basically beaten to a pulp. It's rare to see such a one-sided main event to a major pay per view, and that is something that the WWE did right in 2014.
