10 Things WWE Did Right At Night Of Champions

4. Orton And Jericho Showed Why They Are WWE Legends

Randy Orton beating Chris Jericho clean in the middle of the ring wasn't a surprise. We all expected that to happen. Jericho isn't in WWE in 2014 to win feuds or to win a whole lot of matches. He's there to put on great matches with people that are usually younger than him and try to make them bigger stars. While Orton is not a heel on the rise, he benefited from the win after losing to Roman Reigns cleanly at SummerSlam last month. What is cool about any match Jericho has is that he's a master of counter wrestling. It seems like that has become one of the signature things about his matches because he's always out there coming up with a creative counter to whoever he is in the ring with. Orton was up for the task because he was out there reversing a lot of classic Jericho moves too. Even though both have been in WWE for over 12 years (Jericho is at 15 years), they really haven't feuded that much. They had a match that was arguably the match of the night. Just because they didn't have much of a storyline is irrelevant. It's about putting on an entertaining match on a PPV and that's what they did. Jericho's future from here is a question mark. We know he's taking off for a while. Maybe he'll be back in early 2015 for a run up to WrestleMania. It's very possible. Personally, I'm looking forward to his next book in October because the first two were awesome.
