10 Things WWE SmackDown Must Do Ahead Of WrestleMania 33

Another match that’s heavily rumoured to be in the pipeline for ‘Mania is a rare intergender tag match that would pit John Cena and Nikki Bella against the Miz and Maryse.

The groundwork has already been laid for this one, with Nikki twice clattering into Maryse during a couple of backstage brawls with Natalya. And it was the second of those incidents that led to Maryse coming out on SmackDown just this past week and going to town on Nikki with a lead pipe.

With moments like that, this prospective feud is already starting to look much more appealing than it originally sounded in theory, although there’s still much to be done to transform this one into a WrestleMania-calibre programme.

One such step is to have John Cena call out the Miz for his apparent inability to keep his wife in check and prevent her from attacking people with lead pipes. Presumably, Maryse will then take umbrage with the assertion that she needs to be controlled by her husband, at which point Nikki gets involved due to her own beef with Maryse, and before you know it the pieces for this one have all fallen nicely into place.
