10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Jim Ross

6. He Went Heel In 1996 And Brought In Fake Razor Ramon & Diesel

Ross did a heel promo on the September 23, 1996 edition of Raw. He ranted on about how he came to WWE to be primary play by play man, but he wasn't getting a fair shake. The fans cheered when he said he was the play by play man. He complained about how he had to wear a toga at WrestleMania 9 and he said "it's crap." Ross mentioned that Mr. McMahon fired him in 1994 because he had Bell's Pallsy and part of the left side of his face was paralyzed. Later in that same promo, Ross introduced us to Razor Ramon and the music played although it wasn't the real Razor Ramon. He was in WCW as Scott Hall. He also brought out a fake Diesel. The real Diesel (Kevin Nash) was also in WCW. Since those characters were just knock offs of the original, fans hated them. The heel turn of Ross didn't last too long and he just went back to being an announcer. Whenever WWE talks about the legacy of JR, they never mention this heel promo or anything to do with Fake Diesel or Fake Razor Ramon. That angle was a colossal failure. It's definitely something that WWE wants all of us to forget.
