She lost both times and she gained headlines because they spent about $50 million for each campaign run that she had. Those were records at the time. They really went all out to get her that spot. What WWE didn't like was when her opponents would use things from WWE TV against her. One of her 2010 Republican opponents was a man named Peter Schiff. His campaign attacked McMahon by using a famous WWE clip of Linda kicking Jim Ross in the nuts after she fired him on the October 10, 2005 edition of Raw. Linda wasn't used on WWE TV much, but that was their way of making her a heel and once again they went after the lovable JR to get heat. A July 2010 political ad by Schiff featured Linda's kick on JR five times. McMahon ended up winning the Republican vote in Connecticut over Schiff and others, but lost to Democrat Richard Blumenthal in the election. Once again Good Ol' JR was an easy target in a commercial for Linda's opponent that WWE wants you to forget.
