The vignettes showed the two stars flirting with Cena first asking her out one week and then in subsequent weeks it progressed from there. They had some scenes where people like Kelly Kelly and Raw GM Mike Adamle would show up to take part in their awkward conversations. While they didn't do much of anything in the scenes, the dialogue suggests something was going on. There was also a moment where Cena went to check on James, who had just been through a grueling match, and he had to give her something back. It was some underwear that she presumably left the night before. Oh that Cena, what a classy guy. The backstage story goes that the two were dating around that time (it was before Cena was married, if you're wondering) and Vince McMahon thought it would be amusing to put their romance on screen in an innocent way. People in wrestling date each other all the time. Sometimes they work out. Sometimes they don't. For whatever reason, WWE felt the need to put this couple on screen together. After several weeks of their aggressive flirting backstage, they just stopped doing segments together and it was never really mentioned again.
