3. The No Mercy 2002 Tag Match Can't Be Celebrated Due To Benoit Reasons
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xz6sw9_kurt-angle-and-chris-benoit-vs-rey-mysterio-and-edge-no-mercy-2002-tag-team-match-to-crown-the-first_sport There have been a lot of great matches in Rey's WWE career, but the best one was a tag match that many considered the 2002 Match of the Year. That match took place on October 20, 2002 at a Smackdown only PPV called No Mercy, which was a great show. The match saw Rey team up with Edge as a babyface tag team to take on the duo of Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit to crown the new WWE Tag Team Champions that were exclusive to the Smackdown brand. Angle and Benoit were a team that didn't get along, but they were so awesome that they put their differences aside for matches like this. The match was a clinic in what great tag team wrestling is. There were plenty of quick tags, isolating both Edge and Rey at various points, the nearfalls were believable throughout and you had no idea who was going to win it when it was over. They didn't need blood or a major storyline either. It was just a straight up wrestling match with four guys that were really good. Rey was amazing in the match by utilizing his blistering speed to attack and he did some innovate spots like a moonsault off Edge's shoulders. In the end, Angle & Benoit won the gold after Angle did an amazing counter into an Ankle Lock for the submission win. It's a match that I actually called the best
WWE tag team match ever and it's not a match WWE will ever mention again because of the involvement of Chris Benoit. Anything Benoit related isn't celebrated because of the double murder suicide he committed in 2007. It is, of course, available on WWE Network.
