As detailed in Jericho's second book (Undisputed: How to Become the World Champion in 1,372 Easy Steps), that dream move to the WWF seemed like a nightmare more than a childhood fantasy come true at first.

Firstly, there was a feeling in the locker room that the WCW arrival viewed himself as superior to everyone else. Then, and worst of all, Vince McMahon flat out told his new employee that he was a waste of talent and money. Ouch.

Making matters worse, Jericho accidentally gave Chyna a black eye in the ring. That incident raised the ire of McMahon, who shouted, “she's a woman, damn it” at Y2J before forcing him to go under the wing of X-Pac in late-1999.

Instead of looking like a WWE legend capable of reinvention beyond belief, the mighty Chris Jericho appeared lost in a soup of negativity after he traded Nitro for Raw in August '99. That wouldn't change until the year 2000, making Jericho's start in the promotion a painful experience.
