Gosh, Damien Sandow's career in WWE really is just a laundry list of WWE creative shortcomings isn't it?

After being saddled with the always-infuriating impersonation gimmick, Damien Sandow did the unthinkable and turned it into gold. This led to him being transitioned into a 'stunt double' role with Holywood A-Lister The Miz, which only led to him becoming even more popular. The Miz grew jealous of Sandow, now known as Damien Mizdow, and his popularity.

All of this led to Mizdow breaking free at WrestleMania 31, in a perfectly crafted moment during the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Hopes were high for what would surely be the ensuing split feud between the two, one that could really carry the middle of the card throughout the summer.

Welp, not quite. The feud was over before it began, with Summer Rae getting involved and turning on Mizdow in a match for the rights to the Miz brand. Sandow looked like a fool coming out of the entire storyline, WWE creative once again messing up what seemed to be a can't-mess-up opportunity.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
