10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Dolph Ziggler

2. The Love Triangle With Lana & Rusev

In the summer of 2015, WWE's production team were obsessed with MTV-style presentation. Words like, "Uh Oh" were plastered on the screen to help sell stories, and there was an graceless reality TV delivery that actually hurt each angle. The worst offender was the Love Island-like guff involving Dolph, Lana, Rusev and Summer Rae.

Apologies in advance to anyone who blocked such pain from their minds.

Ziggler, who was the babyface of the piece, stole Rusev's girl and rubbed the fact he was getting jiggy with Lana in the Bulgarian's face. To counter this, Ru went after Summer and convinced her to dress up like Lana 2.0 (or, as it turned out, Lana 1.5). The whole thing was thoroughly dreadful, and it was full of face-palming cheesy dialogue.

Dolph didn't come across like a face at all, and Rusev occasionally seemed like the sympathetic party in the ugly storyline. Meanwhile, Lana, who was painted as a Russian doll held down by her domineering husband, acted like a smitten teenage girl.

Horrible.
